FLEXIBLE KURBING INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Flexible Kurbing modules are linked and aligned using metal
dowels. They are then anchored to the pavement using 3/8" x 6"
stainless steel lag bolts with stainless steel washers fastened into
our heavy duty pavement anchors that are inserted into holes in the
pavement. The holes are then filled with rubber caps to cover the
bolt heads.
Required to drill holes: Heavy duty hammer drill with a 9/16" x 12" long masonry bit.
To install each module, place the module in its final position on
the pavement. Holding the module firmly in place, insert the
drill bit into the hole in the module and drill the hole to a minimum
of 4" into the pavement. NOTE: holes must
be clean to allow the anchor to go completely into the hole. This
can be accomplished using a long nose air gun to blow out the hole or
you can use a shop vac with a long thin nozzle to clean the hole as it
is being drilled.
After the hole is clean, insert the bolt/washer/anchor combination
into the Kurb and pound until the lip of the anchor is firmly seated on
the pavement.
Using an impact wrench (or a 1/2" rachet), tighten the bolt until the washer is firmly seated. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. Insert the rubber cap in the hole and tap it until just below the surface.
